Kirkoswald

Kirkoswald is an attractive south Ayrshire conservation village. The village which is situated amidst attractive rural surroundings is home to Souter Johnny’s Cottage, home of the cobbler made famous in Robert Burns’ poem Tam o’ Shanter. Kirkoswald has a village store, a hotel and church. Girvan is approximately 8 miles south and Ayr approximately 14 miles north. Prestwick Airport is approximately 16 miles north. The village is on the A77. This corner of south Ayrshire is renowned for its unspoilt scenery and particularly mild climate throughout the year. The area is the perfect spot for the outdoor enthusiast, there are excellent golf courses: Turnberry, Girvan and Brunston, Dailly. There are the usual field sports, excellent rivers for fishing and superb routes for walking. The National Trust for Scotland’s Culzean Castle is only a short car drive from Kirkoswald.
