Kirkcudbright

Kirkcudbrightshire, Dumfries and Galloway

The marina at Kirkudbright

The Artists' town of Kirkcudbright, a Royal Burgh, has a traditionally Scottish feel and with its coastal location and working harbour is popular with locals and tourists alike. There is a thriving town centre with a wide range of shops, supermarkets and other facilities together with schools, churches and many buildings of historical interest including the local Museum and Castle.

Road links to the town are excellent with the A75 Euro-route some 6 miles away, connecting to the motorway network. Gatehouse of Fleet (8 miles), Castle Douglas (10 miles) and Dumfries (28 miles) are within easy reach of Kirkcudbright. The busy market town of Newton Stewart is some 25 mls west.

The whole area is attractive to the outdoor enthusiast whether walking, bird watching, fishing (both sea and river), water sports, hunting or shooting, with stunning scenery and peace and tranquility, a much sought after quality.
